I started off in publishing – layout and design specifically. I eventually translated that into communications as the Communications Coordinator for the Association of Realtors. That involved writing press releases,  web design, design of marketing collateral for trade shows and events, monthly newsletters and many, many email blasts (these were the days before social media really took off)!

When I left the Realtor association, I started working for a few clients and small business owners designing their marketing collateral (brochures, logos, websites, etc). I realized the joy I got from helping  small businesses with small marketing budgets — there are many creative ways to market that don’t require hundreds of dollars to be effective.
